Adam’s thoughts on the State of the Union

“We choose the thousands of American communities whose roads aren’t paved with power or privilege, but with honest effort, good faith, and the resolve to build something better for their kids.” Rep Joe Kennedy II

Still stunned by last night’s State of the Union and the blatant disregard for your needs? It’s tough listening to rhetoric that is not only questionable in truthfulness but was totally detached and irrelevant from the realities of your life and lives of your family members.  It’s clearer now more than ever that true American values are those of integrity, civility, and common sense!

We are ready for safe neighborhoods. We are ready to rebuild our education system. We are ready to help build an economy in our district with living wage jobs. We are ready to live a life where Seniors can sit on their porch without fear and our children can walk to school again without passing blight and abandoned homes in their neighborhood. Simply put, WE ARE READY TO DO BETTER.

To do it, we need new leadership in across our State!  On a national level, it’s clear from 2017’s election results in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia that Americans are fired up, engaged, and ready to turn our map blue. But this momentum must trickle down to our county, our cities, and our districts!

I want to be the leader who personally addresses the issues you discuss at your kitchen table and work “hand in hand” with you to solve them. I’ve worked with mayors, business owners, elected officials, and community leaders to identify and meet common goals, and to find opportunities that help everyone succeed. I was instrumental in gaining “wins” notably (PA 152 of 2009), which protects seniors and the infirm from losing their utility services.  While working for Mayor Bing, I shepherded the creation of the Public Lighting Authority, a project that has resulted in the installation of 64,000 new lights across the City of Detroit!

As Representative Joe Kennedy II stated last night, “We choose the thousands of American communities whose roads aren’t paved with power or privilege, but with honest effort, good faith, and the resolve to build something better for their kids”. In other words, above anything else, I choose to serve YOU, the people of District 2.  Like you, I care about our children and their future!  I want to build a better life for them and my daughter, LillyJo. We have the faith and resolve and I know that together we can change our district. We can do better.

I am ready to bring my experience, my values, and my passion for putting people first as your State Senator! I hope you’ll help me by donating to the campaign and/or becoming a part of the A-Team.

Adam
