Fixing neighborhoods starts with ownership. Its too hard for residents to purchase city owned property. As a councilperson I can change the process for land sales and make it easier for residents to own the property in their neighborhood and fix it up. Recruiting neighbors is going to be a critical to retaining the residents who have stuck through all the tough times in Detroit. As a council we can encourage entrepreneurship by working with the business and philanthropic communities to develop business incubators as a component of receiving tax abatements and large scale developments.
