What If DDOT Was Free for Every Detroiter?
What if every Detroiter could ride the bus for free? I believe public transportation should connect people to opportunity — not create another financial barrier. Free DDOT buses could help working families, seniors, students, and young professionals access jobs, healthcare, education, and more across Detroit. Do you think Detroit buses should be free? Let us know in the comments. #Detroit #DDOT #AdamHollier #PublicTransit #DetroitPolitics #Transportation #DetroitCommunity

This Mother’s Day, I’m reflecting on the women who shaped Detroit and shaped my life.
Fannie M. Richards — Detroit’s first Black public school teacher, who fought segregation all the way to the Michigan Supreme Court and won. She also established Michigan’s very first kindergarten class. Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick — A proud daughter of Detroit who served over 32 years in elected office, secured billions in federal funding for our city, and broke barrier after barrier representing us in Congress. 💐 Polly — the mom who raised Krystle, and became my mom too. 💐 Krystle — my wife, a clinical psychologist and professor dedicating her life to the mental health and wellness of our community. Changing lives every single day. 💐 My Mom — who showed up every single day from kindergarten through 12th grade. Who taught me to take care of people and to fix systems, not just patch them. 💐 Grandma — 103 years old. She left Oklahoma for Detroit in search of opportunity and spent her career teaching Head Start. The original trailblazer of our family. To every mother in Detroit and across Michigan — we celebrate and honor you today and always. Happy Mother’s Day. 💐❤️ #HappyMothersDay #MothersDay #Detroit #Michigan #DetroitWomen #BlackGirlMagic #DetroitHistory #FannieMRichards #DeltaSigmaTheta #CarolynCheeksKilpatrick #AdamHollier#MichiganPolitics #CelebrateMoms #MothersOfDetroit

Childcare is not a luxury, it’s infrastructure.
Childcare is one of the biggest financial burdens facing families in Detroit today. In many cases, daycare costs more than rent — forcing parents, especially women, out of the workforce. I’ve experienced this firsthand with my own family. And it’s clear: this isn’t a personal failure — it’s a policy failure. We need real solutions like universal pre-K, affordable childcare, and better wages for providers. This is about more than childcare — it’s about opportunity, economic stability, and the future of Detroit. Follow along and join the movement for childcare for all. #ChildcareForAll #Detroit #WorkingFamilies #UniversalPreK #AdamHollier #EconomicOpportunity #Shorts
