What’s At Stake

Donald Trump and his MAGA allies have put everything—from the right to vote to fair maps—on the chopping block, working to intimidate and disenfranchise voters across our state as they consolidate their hold on power

We need a Secretary of State who will lead the fight against these attacks on our fundamental freedoms, and will never back down in the face of these undemocratic and unconstitutional attacks.

  • As a U.S. Army veteran and paratrooper, where he signed up to jump out of airplanes to get to where the need was greatest.
  • As a State Senator, leading the fight for fair maps that gave communities of color the representation they deserve.
  • As a voting rights champion, where he helped to stop Donald Trump’s attempt to steal the 2020 Election in Michigan.
  • In Governor Whitmer’s Cabinet – providing critical services for our veterans and standing up for the Democracy that they put their life on the line for every single day.

While Adam and his wife were in the hospital celebrating the birth of their second child, he received a call from the Biden campaign asking him to rush to the TCF Center, where Trump supporters were attempting to invalidate the votes of thousands of Michiganders. After checking on his wife and newborn son, Adam headed down to Detroit’s vote-counting center to fight back against MAGA’s disenfranchisement efforts.

  • Stop Donald Trump from rigging our elections and silencing our voices – and protect and expand the voting rights of every single Michigander.
  • Make voting and registering to vote as easy as possible for every eligible Michigander.
  • Take bold action to encourage new voters to get registered and take part in the process – including implementing automatic voter registration. Adam is a strong believer in deep organizing and will make it his mission to connect with the voters who have been disillusioned and don’t participate in the process.
  • Remove barriers to the ballot box that have traditionally kept young voters, seniors, people of color, and veterans from exercising their right to vote.
  • Invest in our local clerks and communities, ensuring they have the resources they need to conduct our elections as fairly and efficiently as possible.
  • Continue his work to ensure Michigan has fair legislative maps and representation for communities of color across the state.
